JiaMin: May 2011

2009 had been a great year for Jia Min in her badminton journey. She played in 7 competitions and won gold medals in 6 of them.

Some of her treasured moments was when she won the Girls Single (13&Under) category in the Berita Harian/Ashaway/Pilot Pen competition and soon after, capturing the title in the GS (U-13) category in the Cheers Singles, playing against opponents who were 2-3 years older than her.

This was also the year that Jia Min started to participate in the 100Plus Malaysian National Junior Circuit. These competitions in Malaysia were great learning experience and good exposure for her as she was able to gauge her standard against the other players from Malaysia.

1ST LEG - 100Plus Malaysian National Junior Badminton Circuit (B - South Zone) – Played in Melaka (19/2/2009 – 22/2/2009)

Jia Min represented the State of Johor in the GS (12&Under) category.

GRAND-PRIX FINALS - 100 Plus Malaysian National Junior Badminton Circuit – Played in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan (10/6/2009 – 14/6/2009)

JM topped the South (B) Zone and went on to play in the Grand Prix Finals. The top 16 players from the North (A) Zone, South (B) Zone and Sabah & Sarawak gathered to compete in this Grand-Prix Finals.
